  • The American Canal Society
    The American Canal Society is dedicated to Historic Canal Research, Preservation, Restoration, and Parks. The society was formed in 1972 to promote the wise use of America’s many historic canal resources through research, preservation, restoration, recreation, and parks. The society acts as a national clearing house of canal information and co-operates with local, state, and international canal societies, groups, and individuals to identify historic canal resources, to publicize canal history, activities, activities, and problems, and to take action on threatened canals and sites.

  • The Inland Waterways Association
    The vision of the Inland Waterways Association is to “To ensure the inland waterways of England and Wales are restored and maintained to the best possible standards, and kept accessible for the benefit of all people”.

  • The Railway and Canal Historical Society
    Founded in 1954 to bring together all those interested in the history of transport, with particular reference to railways and waterways in Britain, its main objects are to promote historical research and to raise the standard of published history. Everyone with an interest at any level in any aspect of the subject is invited to apply for membership.

 

Marine Heritage Shops:-

  • Nauticalia
    This company has a number of shops in Great Britain and produces its own mail catalogue, in which it sells a wide range of souvenir and gift items, clothing and accessories related to marine heritage.

 

Marine Television Channels:-

  • Marine BizTV
    Marine BizTV is the first 24 hour free to air Global Maritime Television Channel. Marine BizTV is spearheaded by a group of Naval Architects, Marine Engineers and Captains, who ensure that Marine BizTV is an informative, educative medium which is ideal for maritime business development and promotion.

 

Steam Boats and Steam Ships:-

  • The Paddle Steamer Preservation Society
    The Paddle Steamer Preservation Society is Britain’s longest established, largest and most successful steamship preservation group. Founded in 1959, we have sailed our ships since 1975. It is a registered charity. Through its associated charitable and non-profit distributing companies, it operates Britain’s only two working paddle steamers, both of which have won major heritage awards.

  • The Steam Boat Association of Great Britain
    The Steam Boat Association of Great Britain (SBA) was formed in 1971 to promote the enjoyment of steamboats and to represent the interests of steamboat owners. Membership is open to all steamboat enthusiasts, in the UK and overseas, whether or not they own a steamboat. The Association holds regattas and cruises throughout the year plus national and regional social gatherings and technical seminars on all aspects of steam launch engineering.

    It regularly provide displays at model engineering exhibitions. The activities of the SBA are recorded in our quarterly journal The Funnel which is free to members. The Association has also produced a number of technical publications based on the collective experience of our members including an illustrated register of members' boats with technical descriptions. The SBA provides members with services such as boiler inspection facilities and special insurance arrangements for boats and machinery. In addition, members may purchase a range of customised accessories from burgees to umbrellas!

  • Steam Boat Association of Australia
    The Steam Boat Association of Australia is a non-profit organisation consisting people with a keen interest in steam driven vessels of all types, large and small, old and new. The association has over 100 members around Australia and about 40 “launch” size steam boats on the register.

  • The North American Steamboat Association
    The purpose of the North American Steam Boat Association is to: - provide a correspondence link among hobby steamboaters; form a steamboat organization similar to the Steam Boat Association of Great Britain; insure continuation of a North American steamboat organization and magazine; have a steamboating magazine The Smokestack for steamboaters and by steamboaters; try for a North American meet for all of North America to attend.
